I called BLM today.  The road into the Angels is open but the ramp is closed to vehicles.  The person I talked with did not want anyone using the ramp, even for launching kayaks.  The same person recommended using a day use swimming beach that might be OK for kayak launching. It is right next to the Angels launch ramp and near the Angels fish cleaning station.  She provided the following map link.

http://www.usbr.gov/mp/ccao/newmelones/maps/Glory%20Hole%20Recreation%20Area.pdf

I will check it out on my next trip up but I am inclined to fish the Glory Hole side because many fish are being caught and launching/parking is easy.

Thanks Grumpy.  I know Scott will appreciate this information as he mentioned wanting to fish Angels Creek Friday for Crappie.

I'll probably fish GH Friday but haven't completely committed to it.

Michael

Will be fishing GH on Friday. Still going to look for crappie although it is a long paddle for them out of GH. Will be with my dog so hard to miss.

Scott,

Have you tried Carson Creek for Crappie?  It is about 30 minutes by paddle from GH.

Hey Ben, I know we are free to launch wherever, but is there a pre-tourney sign in?  I'm guessing no but thought I should ask.  There was at Brian's first event in '07.

Yeah, I saw the change in forecast last night.  Although I think Saturday's high is 60.

Hopefully it doesn't affect the turnout. :smt009   I'll be there come h*ll or high water. :smt003
