Anyone in Oregon?  Near Portland?  There's a good possibility I'll be working in Portland here in the future.  I have a conference call to make in the morning which might firm something up.  I know Crater lake is out there, what else?

Lots of place to fish around Portland and cross the bridge into Washington!

Hey contact bsteves either on this site or nwka.  He's a really nice guy and I contacted him when I thought I might be moving up there.  I believe he lives in Portland.  They get some really good salmon and lots of rockfish open all year.  Yackinitup seems to have the rock fish thing down and he's really cool too.

If you go as far South as Crater Lake, you might as well go west to the coast to the Rogue River. Crater Lake is closer to Calif border than portland...

Look up an outfitter named Mark VanHook, he is an old friend and will most likely give you a discounted trip steelhead fishing on one of his jet boats. He runs the river out of Gold Beach. Tell him Curtis Stockton of Jerome says Hi.

But if you stay closer to Portland, try fishing the Sandy river, my uncle fishes it several times a week for steelhead, salmon etc. You could also go to the columbia river and charter a sturgeon trip.

Also in Portland, there are a lot of things to do with family. Or you can take sunset highway to the coast and one of my favorite towns on the beach. Seaside Ore.

Lots of waters around Portland.  Crater Lake is not local.  http://www.danandlouis.com/ is a great place for oysters and clams.  Jakes in the 1980's was great.  Get a bucket of Crawdads and a beer and life is good.  There is the Columbia river, other rivers and lakes in the area.  About an 90 minutes to the ocean.
http://www.dfw.state.or.us/RR/southwest/ is the site I use for the Rogue river.  But they have reports for everywhere.  Go online and buy your license.

Yes.  I'll be working for Hitachi through another company that's hiring me.  Hitachi (As I'm sure more company's are doing now days) uses this company to staff now.
