The guy says" labs are supposed to be hunters not fishermen"....he dosent know his Lab history. They were bred by cod fishermen on the Labrador coast. The dog would bail off the side of their skiffs and pick up all the cod that became unhooked off the longlines when their bladders blew up and they floated to the surface. When the Brits came over and saw these dogs bailing into the near freezing waters all day to retrieve fish they took the bloodline home to be used as bird retrievers. Check out a well bred labs webbed feet and tell me that dog aint supposed to fish................

and the chesapeke bay retriever was born from these lines, one of the best if not best all around cold weather water dog imo, cameron
