Greeting from sunny baja!  Another terrible day of 70 degree plus weather and hardly a breath of a breeze to be found.   Today was our first day of two to be spent here in Guerro Negro before heading east to Bajia Conception for a week, then to Las Barilles for a week.  The fishing is not supposed to be great here in the bay, but I did manage to catch some fish.  Caught some huge dines and what I believe are Calico Bass?   More importantly we pulled our kayaks up next to some huge sand dunes and just hung out and enjoyed the scene.  We had two porpoise swim right by us on the beach, but all I have is video of that so will have to see if I can load to You tube.   I understand that the weather isn't great up in the US, that really sucks!   Much love from baja, Jim and Lisa

Jim,
YOU SUCK. Get back up here and fish like a reel man, in the freezing ass cold!

Can't wait to hear you report from Las Barilles, one of  my favorite places to fish.

Got up early to do some recon work this morning.  Headed south to Obre de Libra, where many people come to be close to the gray whales in January and February.   Flat ass calm as could be and absolutely stunning.  I could not find a good place to launch the yak as the tide was low and I would have had to drag it through the mud for a long way and did not know what it would be like trying to get back out.  Would love to do some research to find a great place to camp and yak here.  Must do some google earthing soon.

www.mexfish.com  Search spotted bay bass and see what it says for yourself. Enjoy, you should be able to find any species here that you catch and be able to identify them. Have a great trip!
