Plan to launch around 8-9am.  Bringing the wife with me so she can see why i got crabs last time I went to Half Moon Bay, hopefully she'll buy that excuse.

Off around 2 or earlier since we have a christmas party to go to.

Conditions look good so far, 5ft swell, light wind in the morning from the SW

cloudy and 57 degrees, 30% chance of rain in the afternoon - what am I, a weatherman?

slight chance my plans will change, but only if I can convince her to fish instead of crab (i'd rather go to tulloch)

How far off shore do you go? What is the lanuch / landing difficulty in general terms? What is the specific location of the launch?

Thanks,

J

not far, not more than a mile or so from the jetty.

launch/landing difficulty is a 0 on a scale of 10

launch is at half moon bay kayak company in princeton/pillar point harbor

Cool....... I have three crab traps...... one is a metal collapsible box, one is a round metal one metal wire and re-bar and another round one that you pull up around the crabs I think?

How many traps do you take along? How long do you let them soak?

Sorry for all the questions but I have not done it from a yak and interested how you do it.

Thanks

J

Not to threadjack but did you hear that the Moccasin fish hatcher planted their brood stock in Tulloch.

no, I HEARD OF NO SUCH THING. THAT IS OBVIOUSLY A LIE.  THAT WOULD NOT POSSIBLY BE THE REASON I WANT TO GO TO TULLOCH  :smt002

how many you use and how long you soak is entirely up to you and your abilities to handle them on a kayak.  safety first.  check the link "kayak crabbing" under articles on the left to learn more.

i will personally be using 3 promar collapsible, 1 crab ring and probably try to snare a bugger while im waiting
