Myself and SteveS decided to try OAP for the first sturgeon attempt since last winter. OAP sounded productive from some intel Steve had gleaned earlier in the week. When we arrived at OAP the wind was blowing pretty good right from the west withsmall whitecaps already there. It could get ugly we decided and ran back to marin to fish China Camp.

Always have cash to cross the bridge as they dont take atm or CC's. I scrounged around in the truck and found the 4 bucks finally with about 15 pissed off drivers behind me. I forgot my cash at home. Duh.

Anyway we made it to CC and launched to a nice little breeze and sun. Scattered clouds put on a good show. We anchored up by RR but with the outgo and the breeze that had become a wind it was a bit bumpy. We moved south a mile and out a bit. Anchored up in 12 ft of water about 20 yards apart. Steve picked up some grass and ghost at LL. Nice bait although the shrimp were just that. grass on the small side. It took about 10 shrimp to fill one 7/0 hook. I caught a ray and Steve did better. 2 rays , 2 leopards, 1 sand and to our utter surprise and 4ft green sturgeon. Steves first. This specie of sturgeon are just amazing to look at. We stayed till the end of the outgo. Around 1:30. Great day on the water. We need some rain to flush the unwanteds out and liven things up. They have been doing good over by Pittsburgh but anchoring in 40+ feet of water over there wasnt in the cards today. Thanks Steve for picking up the bait. Here are some pics. The worst thing about a waterproof camera case is getting home and THEN noticing water or some shit on the lense. Oh well. :smt006

Hey I hope you took at least a moment to show the PB what you caught,

Great recon, thanks for the report and pics, Greens are pretty fish, I have heard that they don't taste as good as whites, "old timers from before they were protected of course"

WTG guys. Great report. Those greenies are cool for sure. I've been lucky enough to catch a couple of them. Both were on the small side though. Cool none the less. This marks the start of the winter dino season I guess.
