I had a great time Mike. Thanks for putting us together today. There is unity and love on this website. Look no further than todays report. I got the little hen on a lucky craft pointer shad imitation. Thanks for the cool sinker releases too Big Mike.I met up with Saltydog on the freeway and we were on the phone( dont say anything to the coppers). Saying to each other this could get ugly as it was raining and foggy as hell. It all cleared and it turned out to be one of those mystic fall days with mist in the mountains and sun on the water. Thanks for showing me the chantrelles Glyn those look very tasty. Can I go next time you hunt them? I apologize, I didnt take one pic. I am learning more about Sonoma everytime I go there. Its a great fishery so close to home. On the river soon. Eh Mc?

Here's my catch of the day!    I keep my wallet, keys and cell in a small dry bag stuffed into my storage box.   So.. end of the day I get back to the ramp and I discovered that at some point.. no doubt while rummaging around in there for something behind my back, the dry pack fell overboard.  :smt013  Everyone was heading out but Jonesz was still otw so I radioed to see if he was going to be there a while and if he had a cell with him just in case.   The wind was up so we thought maybe it had blown to the shore since we fished near shore most of the day so I headed back across to the dam and then went towards the bridge to find the furthest spot I had trolled to and there it was.. floating right at the base of the dam.   Everything intact and still dry.    My lucky day.. Jonesz said I should imediately go buy a lotto ticket!   :smt044

Anyway.. was a fun day otw with a great crew..  finally met someone with the same yak as I have, I think it was ericb but I didnt get a chance to talk much as we were on the ramp.. he was leaving and I was putting mine back in the water to go find the errant pack.

Here's a pic of my catch!

It was good to see some familiar faces...  at the ramp, anyway...

I didn't drag my butt from Sonoma til about 9am, after sleeping in my truck for all of three hrs, very hung over...  and went under the bridge up the channel away from the rest of the guys.

It was absolutely stunning, all alone back there...  But no fish for me, although I tried casting in all the coves, shallow and deep...  BUT there are fish there, and that's a great lake that will go into my regular rotation.  1.45hrs to Fremont!

Bill, glad you found the pack!  I knew you would, since there weren't many boats out.

Great report on a great outing!  Looks like you were casting and trolling with a weight above the lure a few feet?   it has been years since I hooked a steelie at Lake Sonoma!  Believe it or not I have accidentally caught them while LMB fishing in the back waters up near the cloverdale end a few times.  Thanks for sharing what looked to be a great day on the water!

Glad you got some hook-ups at your hook-up, Mike! I wanted to go, but had the GF's entire family over for a BBQ yesterday.

Great pics, er'body.

Had a great time up there. First time this year going for the local steel. Yesterday was a perfect day, overcast/drizzel with NO WIND, and biting fish. Unfortunetly today was a different story. Woke up to a heard of sheep on the lake........... :smt012 It was cold too!!! I worked it hard today for three hookups and three releases.... Never got my hands on one today. It's got me wanting to come back for more tho. Love the way those wild fish fight. Generally it was slow for most folks I talked to today. Mike you picked a perfect day. Musta used the crystal ball to project that one eh? It was great hooking up with another NCKA crew for sure. Funny thing, I get there just after dawn, it's drizzeling and there's Mike on the ramp already dressed, launched and ready to go. Dude's hard core...... gotta love it.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
