You're making it out to be more work than it is.  We can easily do this!!!

Your Right!!!   but, Jim sent me the " MOA " Memorandum of Agreement that had all these details in them

But Again, after Talking with Jim, he was unaware of how it's worded and " technicalities "will be changed. There still are some " Details " that need to be taken care of as to aligned ourselves with HOW and I will take care of that with Jim and have also talked with brian1976 about how we are going to handle this. Yes, these details were not done in Wa., but it would be best to get them done as to work with HOW and KASA as we get sponsorship and $$$ for the program, and to have Wounded Warriors find us.

In talking to Brian1976  " Yes... " it can be " Simplified..."  Just like taking a " Newbie " fishing.

Brian also has " Contacts " within the Military as to get people, The strength of the Kayakfishing community is showing strong already. He has already put on 7 events in Wa. with Great Success... some of which were in Tournament format with prizes and such,

Hats off to You Brian!!!!   :smt006

Brian will be returning to Bakersfield in March and will probably have an event planed for April....

with Brian1976's contacts and kmstorm64 local position, and whatever other resources come up, we should be able to get something going soon too... As well as, support Brian...

Great news!   CA will issue group fishing liscenses for HOW coordinators!

Question:
I have some sponsors interested in helping host some fishing events to benefit military men and women who have returned from duty overseas and now have combat-related injuries or disabilities. Can any special provisions be made to waive license fees for the troops during these hosted fishing trips? What about for these veteran individuals who just want to go fishing on their own? Would you be so kind to explain what opportunities there may be and who I would contact?

Answer:
Yes, there are “Free Group Fishing Permits” available allowing for free fishing under certain conditions and the requirements for these permits are very clear and specific (F&G Code Section 7151 [d-e]). With this approved form, the following persons may fish under this authority:

Mentally or physically disabled persons
Active duty military personnel receiving inpatient care in a military or Veteran's Administration hospital
Veterans with service connected disabilities
The Fish and Game Code 7151(d) allows for these special sport fishing licenses to be issued to groups of mentally or physically handicapped persons under the care of:

A certified federal, state, county, city, or private licensed care center, or
Organizations exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the federal Internal Revenue Code, or
Schools or school districts.
Employees of private licensed care centers, tax-exempt organizations, schools or school districts are also exempt from Section 7145 only while assisting physically or mentally disabled persons fishing under the authority of a valid license issued pursuant to this section.

That is Great News Brian... I thought for sure Ca. was going to drop the ball on that one, Glad to be wrong....

So being we are under the 501c3 with HOW, that should do it, right?

yeah is awesome!  Only hang up is having to complete the application for each event.  Here in Wa I got one for the whole year.  CA. DF&G said the turn around time is less than 2 days for the application and there are no fees.

Well, as far as I understand, once the paperwork is done, which it looks it is,

we are under the HOW 501c3, as the

" Northern California HOW Chapter... "

Wow two volunteer days..  That's Awesome!!

"Central California HOW Chapter"  Will be a bit south.. (from Bakersfield to Fresno and from the Sierra foothills to San Luis Obispo.)

Good luck with that location Bassmanb..If it helps let the owners know that Heroes On the Water's guides and participants have liability insurance..
