Breaking and Entering in a National Park

A customer called the shop frantic yesterday." Someone broke into my car at Yosemite," she exclaimed over the phone. " I need to drive to Chicago on this coming Saturday, can you get it fixed in time?"  Well, I tell her I really need to see the car and order parts if it needs some. She said she has State Farm insurance and since we are a direct repair shop for them we can start work and order parts right away. We went to p/u the car and here is what we saw. Notice the incriminating evidence in the last pic as to who it was that made this little mess. Too funny. Craig

Oh yea, all kinds of wrappers and half eaten bags of chips and nuts. This gal is a real earth mother. The bear loved the mac and cheese most of all.

Thanks for the laugh Craig. Big lesson learn on her part I'm sure.

Too funny!  Imagine what a "relief" it would be to realize it was a critter and not a crackhead.   

Guess they don't have to many bears (the non football kind) in the windy city. She'll have a great story when she goes home. Was she serious that someone (as in a human) did this? Please tell me she's not that dumb!

 

 
  I feel nothing for that person!  How many times was she told to NOT leave any food in her car? The rangers give everyone entering the park pamphlets warning of just that issue!   It's posted practically in and on every sigh post in the park.

looks all too familiar. the salt in the wound was when the ranger cited me. he comes up to me and asks... is this your truck. i reply yes sir. he says... well, i'm going to have to write you up... i chuckle thinking he's kidding me... then, he asks for my license... jokes over. luckily, i had a role of duct tape in the back. that trip sucked ass. and my son is forever freaked out about bears.

that's funny- took one look at that window in the first pic and new.  I used to live in the valley in summers back in the mid-late 80s, you saw that all the time.

Been there done that, in the early 80's had one take the door off my camper shell in Sequoia N.P. 

The ranger's not gonna like that Yogi.
