currently i am thinking about upgrading to either Hobie Revolution or OK T13.  i am leaning toward to Revo because of its mirage feature.
i've noticed Hobie Revolution comes in two versions, recreational and fishing.  does anyone know the difference between these two versions?  and what are the improvements they've made on the 2010 models from 2009?

i am wondering if this is the fishing version:

I bought a Revo last year and the dealer informed me that the only difference is the graphics on the hull and he indicated that Hobie was going to merge the two  models into one.  The fishing model would go away.  I think the fishing models had Hank Parker graphics and Hobie probably decided not to continue paying a "licensing" fee to Parker.

The only difference are the colors offered.  The fishing models come in moss and ivory dune.  The non-fishing models come in caribbean blue, golden papaya, and red hibiscus.

guys, thanks for the info. :smt006

i just received an email from Steve at ACK:

There is no difference between the fishing and non-fishing versions, only colors.  As for the changes from 2009 to 2010, the Revolution has a new seat back that contains an inflatable lumber pad and the paddle is a fiberglass paddle instead of aluminum.  Otherwise the boats are the same. The MirageDrive for 2010 has a new feature that allows the pedals to self center, whereas in 2009 the toe straps would end upside down when your feet weren't in them.
Thanks,
Steve

Any closer to making that decision?  What do you currently paddle?  A hobie might be a nice change of pace. :smt003

currently i have a OK caper.  it's a good small fishing kayak but not ideal for long distance paddle.  i've had it for just over a yr and i think it's time for an upgrade.  probably i will get a revo by the end of this month.  it will be an early x-mas present for myself. :smt003

Good Luck.

Hey Paul :smt006 how goes it bro? I like both the T13 and the Revolution just the same. I mainly
use the T13 for the ocean just because so I don't have to worry about too many moving parts.  The Revolution I use in the bay, delta, and lakes. I like to hold my fishing rod in my hand when
trolling. Kinda hard to do that if you have to paddle at the same time. Just my .02 cents.

What they need to improve is the seat, along with the lumbar support, they need to put a pak on the back, I'm still using my 05 seat just for this function....

I guess I need to put this on the Hobie site....

Like others said, it's pretty much just colors. Hank Parker still has a pro
model, it's the Outback.

hey Jedmo.  i like all the features on the revolution, especially the mirage.  i was planning to get one this month, but a very close friend of family is gravely sick and everything is on hold right now.  i will probably get one by the end of Dec.  since you live near where i live, do you mind if i stop by your place and check out your revolution?  pm me if that's all right.

thanks troller for the info.
