Fellow NCKA'ers -

For those that missed the last group by put together by Ben...

I'll take the lead and contact Karen at Hook 1 to see if she can order for us the new style Promar collapsible crab traps (TR-102w) with integrated escape rings.

WHO'S INTERESTED?

Estimated cost per trap is ~$27 (this assumes a 20% bulk discount from Hook 1 and includes tax & shipping to me). I'll refine the exact cost after I confirm interest level, and work out the details with Karen.

You'd need to pick-up your trap(s) from me somewhere along my daily trek between Gilroy-San Jose-Milpitas.

STILL INTERESTED??? PM me with your contact info and the # of traps you'd want.

I'm interested too, but was thinking of going for the tr-401's.  They look really cool, but haven't found anyone that has tried them yet.  I may opt for two of each style...

Thanks, saw that post after I started this thread. People PM'ing me about this potential group buy... Pls note post above by GB2.

I conduct a final ping from those showing interest before contacting Karen @ Hook 1 and placing an order.

jaywo,

It may be a better option for you to make the drive over to OPS in Oaktown rather than the drive down to Milpitas to meet me... See post by GB2 above.

On my way home from a weekend trip to Napa, I stopped by the Outdoor Pro Shop in Oakland today and picked-up the remaining Promar TR-102W's they had on hand. I had a few extra that are going to "BEN" as he was the first to PM me on this thread.

So... I won't be pursuing the group buy w/ Karen at Hook 1 at this point, but am happy to pass along all of the purchase info I got from bassmanben.

Hey Jeff!  I dropped in to Bass Pro on the way home from a weekend of fishing in the Sonora area and picked up their last TR-102 ($20), and a TR-101($14).  Figured I wanted to go out this weekend with at least two traps, even if the 101 is kinda small I'll give it a shot.  I'm also still looking to get the TR-401 and try that, since I haven't heard anyone yet use them, and the design looks cool!.

Time to get geared up!!! :smt003

Just called & "The last 2 just walked out the door."  Maybe "just" means two days ago. Anyway, they plan to get more in soon (this week sometime) - same price. That's the Oakland store. The Rohnert Park store doesn't seem to have the Promars. https://www.outdoorproshop.com/Articles.asp?ID=134

Thanks for the update pisciform. Sorry I was such a crab trap hog... This definitely seems to be the best price around.
