What a jackass.  On a good note, when I logged onto yelp.com to post the article link under his restaurant review I saw the two others had already beaten me to it.  I hope this jerk's restaurant goes out of business.

I hope they guesstimate and make him pay what ever it cost to restore the fish he has taken over the years.  Be cool if he had records of what he's sold and what he's ordered over the years.

in addition to the fines etc., that kind of behavior makes for bad karma. i wouldn't be surprised if something bad happened to him or his restaraunt.

I think tipster rewards should go up 10x and the fines should match it. With fewer and fewer wardens its the only way they can put a dent in the poaching. Oh and I love the "NOT GUILTY" plea...Didn't he just admit to the warden what he had been doing?

I believe in karma too, but we need tougher laws.  Misdemeanors...  that's ludicrous.

That place sucks anyway.

A while back(like 20 years ) we used to eat there. Average fare. We just quit driving there for some reason. My wife is friends with a waitress there or used to be a waitress there. Her husband is the urchin diver you have seen in many films about urchin diving at the Farrallones. I am sure that more than one person knew waht was going on out there and it sounds as though the guy will unload with more info if he told Rich all that at the scene. BTW Rich Meade is the warden that gave Dave his cite for not having a 7" abalone iron in possesion. So Rich does do some good. I want you all to know that. Hes an Ok dude that made a bad judgement call. As we all do from time to time.
