Hi Divers:

I'm looking for a Riffe "Stable" type  snorkel. My U.S. Divers Impulse is too big and I want a flex tube. My old style is too hard on my Mouth and it gets caught up in the Kelp. I could use a basic  Flex J style also without Purge.

I wouldn't go for the one without the purge unless you plan to float on the surface for sight seeing only.

Hi Sf:

I use both and sometimes I do drink a little salt Water. I look up and
blow a few Bubble as I assend,to clear the Tube. Sometimes Valves get stuck with Sand and fail. I do spend a lot of time in the water sight seeing! :smt002
I like the price and reliability of the basic "J" because I'm cheap and been wet for a few Years. :smt005
                                                                 Thanks for the tip
