Love the report Dale. It's been a while since the last one. Anyhow, WTG on the
sturgeon and to let it go even. Good karma to follow I'm sure of it.

Just curious, why did you release? Sturgeon is one of the best eating fish in my opinion.

I rate sturgeon as the top freshwater fish for eating, but today I made the decision not to take a sturgeon even if I got the rare chance, kinda of a touchy feely thing I guess, of course a 5-10# striper would have come home for sure, any bigger than that and I'd let it go too. If I get another sturgeon this year it will probably come home with me.

Nice release Dale. The color of the water looks great. What was the tide doing when you hooked up? Some of the charters have been hooking up pretty consistent just after the top. Again , congrats on the fish. You called that one big time.

The tide was had just turned and started the out go, not allot of movement, so as you say not long after the top. With the weak flow and the wind my yak was swinging around all day, never thought to use a bucket to keep me straight, but then I'd probably need a better anchor.

most of those charters are fishing deep 70' plus , not sure how that would work on the yak BUT i thought about anchoring on the ledge by buoy 33 then casting into the deep

sturgeon are stacked over there by PG&e(pittsburg) all the way towards collinsville every fall , kinda frusterating though cuz ull mark herds of fish on the FF,drop your bait right on um and still have to do the waiting but hey thats sturgeon fishing!reading this report gots the fever burnin in me! gotta get out there and hook some donkeys!

I've been reading the reports of sturgeon around Pittsburg too but I'm not ready for that paddle and that deep of water, then in the last few days I've seen a report or 2 of fish at the powerlines but they weren't biting, today I guess one of them just got hungry at the right time, for me that is.

Thanks for all the comments, this is only my third time on the water this year and the first time where my yak didn't leak.
