It's just in time for the annual butt surfing contest at Davenport. Last year there were giant waves and offshore winds and bikinis. That would be great if it was a repeat. The best of the west will be there. Both saturday and sunday, until the early afternoon. Then, it's open surfing. Come on down!

Chicks in bikinis huh....G-strings hopefully :smt101. You may get your wish i heard this afternoon on a weather report that the winds are forecasted to be off shore and that the coast will be in the mid to upper 60's, maybe I'll come by, but I am going to be surfing with this kind of epic swell. Say what contest is this, I do not recall hearing about it, who's putting it on?  Thanks Mike

I believe the main guy is Buck Johnson. And it was Demany Smith that started this event 4 or 5 years ago, he moved to socal and Buck took it over.
They've always been very restectful of the local boardies. The contest is on the north side so the boardies get the better south break, and they cone off the north side of the parking lot so we don't park there.
If you surf SC a lot then you probably seen one of the best butt surfers in the world who lives there, that's Dave Johnston. He just hosted  a contest in Pismo Beach last weekend and he usualy does well at this one. You surf d'port much? Tim

Funny how you call it butsurfin over here. In South Africa we called them simply Boatmen. Know where a guy could get a true "waveski" SA/Aussie style, you know, foam filed, lapstrap, almost zero vee, tri fin?

There is always some waveski categories at these things. Some of these SOT's we fish in could surf kinda like one. BTW, one of the websites we use (if you want to see some chatter about it) is boatertalk.com/forums/surfzone.
