Was planning on meeting the FisHunter at dawn but had to do a quick estimate in the AM so didnt get otw till 10:30, Adam and BigeyeDave were otw with a skunk.
I launched into lake-like conditions, and when I got to the jaws, I put feet out, pulled my hatch off started taking gear out and setting up when a 12-15 foot White Shark cruised slowly across my bow, no more than 10 feet away and just under the surface. We had eye contact but thats about it, he was like a big dis-interested bass and just kept on going. The guys were still a mile south so I had a long lonely paddle thru thick red tide, I dropped a couple of times for a RF and a big Greenie, but every time I stopped, the hairs on my neck would stand on end so I was more that relieved when I caught up to my dogs.
I managed lots of fish, including a 30 inch ling, giving me an inch upgrade, and a Black at 18", a 20" Cabbie, a Grassy, China, and a few other RF, 8 Rockies a Ling and a Cab, netting 18 lbs of fillet, for two days.
Here's a shot of Dr Jellyfinger performing a check-up.

I was waiting for your story Ben. Probably was the same fish I saw, seemed to be that size. I never did see the face of it, maybe that was a good thing.
Nice stringer there. I'm stoked you could hit it with the crew during the weather window, it was a really nice one.

Very nicely done Ben! It sounded like you guys were having fun when I raised you on the radio from the beach. I was wanting to get the yaks off the truck and in the water as it was perfect conditions, but my brother wasn't feeling well. I was so kicking myself the whole way home. The red tide sucked up in Half Moon Bay. I wasn't sure if Adam actually said you saw a shark or not as I did hear the part about your sphincters being tight and I kept thinking on the drive home that that could only mean one thing....SHARK  :smt107. I am glad you guys had a great time and I was looking forward to this report.

Take Care,
Ray

Scary story.  glad you got good fish, although it sure is selfish not to let the rest of us know the location of this hot spot.  :smt003
