I was only kidding about the Sawzall I have not tried it.

If you have a lot of small scratches and Harold  :smt004 the spooning will make your boat a little faster.

Support your kayak from end to end and use a heat gun again passing over the deformed area. The plastic will start to move with little heat and should return to original shape. The plastic has a memory that it should return to. If it doesnt move back by itself try a little pressure from the inside. Remembering not to heat it up too much. I use this technique on car plastic bumpers and it works tits.

i've heard people use the same method of applying gentle weight in the oppisite direction. Not alot at once,just light weight over a period of time
