Nice! No FF has been working well so far this season. But maybe that's because I keep fishing with guys that have 'em! Waypoints seem to work as well up there.
Not sure if my buddy & I will launch from BH & do the long paddle or meet you all at the PP beach, but either way will see you OTW, & monitor ch 69.

& for Keo : JAI BOI! Bring a fish bonker this time will ya!

OK - I can only pass on anecdotal evidence.  Whenever I've gone to this spot, the guy with the fish finder is always at the bottom of the pack.

I spend a lot of time there  :smt002

Why do you suppose the FF gets in the way? I just like seeing what's going on above, and below, scenery wise -- and I keep hearing about "boiler rocks"  :smt009 . My FF is also my GPS.

But perhaps you can break that trend...

Either way I'm sure it'll be a great time. Thanks for putting it together.

Ben

My own view - as I am not a fishing fascist and do not judge others, so long as they aren't exploitive - is that fish finders, gps and bait aren't very sporting.  The beauty of fishing this coast is there are a lot of fish.  Finding them is fun, and allows you to fish a wide swath of territory and uncover the unexpected.  As you know, many of these fish tend to sit over the same reefs and not move all that much (female lings and halibut the exception).  So I don't like parking over the same spot, guided by electronics, dropping down dead squid (or live macks, or...) and fishing it clean.  I tend to do fine - rarely have I gotten skunked in 20 years of fishing here - fishing by site and with artificials.  But again, I don't have an issue with someone using either/or - it's each persons choice.

Less relevant - and more superstitious - I think electronics attract the landlord.  It's why I won't fish with someone using a shark shield.  Something to think about in October off the San Mateo coast.

Tomorrow should rock - from my office in the Presidio, wind is way down, swell should be meager, and I don't see any fog.

LOL... If you knew me, and the "quantity" of fish I've taken, exploitive would hardly be the word. I've just barely learned to find my a$$ with both hands fishing wise. But I love making the effort  :smt001
