Introduced my long time fishing buddy to the hobie kayak brand of fishing.  I did not go easy on him as we left from downtown Benicia and circled the Moth Ball fleet before returning into a bright sun and 10-15 mph wind.   In a nut shell it was a day of really small stripers hitting my anchovie and grass shrimp, and one slightly larger on the troll (Rat-L-Trap).
Tried to anchor in the shade of the Benicia bridge for a while but was told we needed to be 500 feet from the bridge pilings to be legal (new one to me) I guess I should have not had my turbin on?  Did find a poor pigeon swimming and struggling in the water and scooped him up and let him dry off on my bow before placing him on a bridge piling and moving on.  He seemed quite happy to be out of the water!  Also, tied up to the boat that has been grounded on the middle of suisun bay for three years or so now and although there was a bait school near by (very small) we only got hounded by the little stripers.
All in all a long day and good to be on the water, but was surprised we did not get any good ones!

A NCKA hookup for big stripers soon would be cool over there. Thanks for the report. The water was glass.
