On Sat I spent most of the AM trolling up and down the Sausalito coast but mostly was into the paddle and work out. Angel Island was looking good.

Over the next few weeks I would like to get over to the Island from Sausalito and looking for others who are interested. Of course we could fish while we go and even make sure we are in Raccoon straights when the tide changes. Who knows what would be down there? Has anyone done this? We could also take in a few beers at Sam’s on the way back...... sounds like a good adventure.

I'd be interested in a trip to the island but not so sure about trying to fish the Strait; it gets pretty gnarly out there.

Out in the Raccoon Straights it can get real ugly with tidal action and powerboat wakes from all directions. Im not saying it cant be done but you better have your shit together. I have been out there many times in a boat and it wasnt too pleasant on occasion. Good Luck and be safe. Check out kayak surfing at yellow point for an idea of the conditions sometimes.

A couple of years ago, GF and I hiked to the top of Angel Island and we watched some sea kayaks in that straight, they really worked hard to get cross it.  At the same time I watched a guy in a sea going rowing dory go around the island and go right through the same area and he made it seem easy.  We also saw sailboats having some sort of regatta and it was like they hit a brick wall when they would get to certain spots.  Good luck with it, be safe.
