Chuck and I launched at about 7:30 this morning, Was nice and calm most of the morning. Wish I could say the same for the fishing. Chuck hooked a small Cabbie first thing, then nothing. I ended up with a foul hooked Black that was pretty fat. But that was it. Great company and exercise like usual. That you can always count on with the group on this forum.

saw some bait, but fished mostly just outside the kelp beds and around the pinnacles west of the breakwater.

We fished the area where the 28 lb HMB derby winning ling was caught.... but no bites except for that one small cab.  We tried squid, shrimpfly rigs, irons, and even Bill's swimbaits.

I did see a few small perch follow my shrimpfly rig as I reeled it up.  Maybe we should have been fishing for perch instead.

Isn't it weird how these beautiful days just don't produce.
I am expecting major success on Sunday as it goes all to heck...... :smt083
