Sorry I didn't make it to the party but wish I was there.  I was helping a friend moving that day in the 100+ degree heat.   The cake is beautiful and the details are great except for the missing tail on the fish  :smt003

the cake looks great michelle.  my wife saw some of the pictures last night and thought it was awesome.  brian is lucky to have someone who cares so much about him.  don't know what it is that you see in him though. j/k  :smt044

so how did he find out the secret? did he see the cake plans beforehand or what?

Nope, he straight up lied and said "someone on NCKA told me about the party you are planning" .... and I, of course, flipped out ... demanded to know who, and he revealed that because I was acting "shady", he took a shot in the dark and no one actually told him.

Did you make him pay for that? (j/k)  :smt003

geez how shady were you acting?  for a man to actually pick up on small signals like that you probably had to have it written on your forehead.

i also cannot believe that he remembered his own birthday was coming up.

Months back Michelle told me about her plans but that she wasn't going to carry them out because of the move/job change/etc. So when I started picking up on those little signals I had a basis to start from.

Yes I am paying for still it.

Well with a water temp of 75 and air temp of 105, it felt like Baja in July.  :fire I fished my tandem and brought my dog. My tandem is not downrigger rigged so I knew chances of catching anything were slim. All of the PBs were fishing the wire at 25-40 ft around the dam. Launched at 730 and started working the surface to 15 ft with rapalas and eventually switched to deep tail dancers size 7 and 9. These dive to about 20-25 ft.  On the way to the dam, Molly leaned over too far while getting a drink and fell out. I haven't fished with her since April and she has gained 25 pounds since then and OMG, assisted big dog rescue is tough. Something to consider for the MBK Safety Class.  :smt005 Finally got Molly back in the boat and made it to the dam. When I got to the cove there was a HUGE striper boil about 100 yards away. I tell Molly to lay down and I start paddling a hard as I can. The problem was the Malibu 2XL is not real fast and the best I could do was 3.5 MPH. By the time I got there it was almost over but I fan casted the area with a kastmaster for nada. Went back to trolling and bagged a couple of trout to 15" on the taildancers on the hail Mary troll. Released the smaller fish. Fished with Dan 964 (shark attack Dan) and heard the story of the GWS attack first hand for the first time. Very scary.  :smt010 Dan has a new puppy which rides in his tankwell which he has trained to bark if he sees the landlord chasing him.  :smt044 Joined Brian G's surprise birthday party and headed home. Michelle, thanks for organizing, had a great time.  :smt006
