In my continued search for a fun toy to play in the waves. I came across this.

Anyone have anything to say about it?

havnt paddled this boat, but if you are interested in kayak surfing have you checked out the more traditional choices like the WS kaos or the Cobra strike?
that way you wont have to buy another boat if you want to upgrade and these surf boats may have a better resale value if wave riding isnt for you.
OK has the yakboard but I thought the boat felt like I was paddling a big frisbee. May give it a try though, couldve been operator error, since Ive a few friends that shred on that boat.
good luck in your search

cool thanks. Cost is an issue if its a play toy. There is a person on the board selling an OK yak board but they haven't replied to my PM or post. I also looked at the OK mysto. That cobra is a bad ass looking boat for the surf.

copy that
Als frenzy is a smokin deal. The frenzy was one of the boats I learned on. Its super easy to catch a wave and ride it but once I picked my line I was pretty much commited to it. Not really a bottom turn kind of boat but that could be my lack of skill.
One of the nice things about it is that you sit deep, giving you a lower COG and a little more control with your hips. Because you sit so deep, leg straps are not a must but will still be a great help.
Islanderkayaks made a boat called the Hula that is fun but I think perception has the rights to it these days.
Malibu makes a surf boat called the re-vision that SBD used to rock. I didnt paddle it so I dont feel right commenting but I think he and Jelly enjoyed it.
again good luck and hope this helped

Ernie (Superfin19) paddles and fishes off a Spitfire, I fish off a very similar Wilderness Ripper. We fish Santa Cruz to Big Sur on a fairly regular basis and do just about everything (sometimes more) than others do in the bigger yaks. We don't surf with them (intentionally) :smt003, I've never paddled his boat but I see it as very capable and affordable, mine was about a hundred dollars more expensive. I've been paddling my boat about two years, they are fun yaks but I don't see them as overly stable in the surf. We have both crashed on them in shore break, one thing is that they are very maneuverable and lightweight.
Motorized boats are for the lazy limp d!%k$
