Anyone know what the story is on the kayak4fish forums this time?  I thought they'd get a little more mileage out of their new server than this!
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

You can get the same reports on plasticnavy.com.  In fact Jim S. is connect to that site somehow.

I hope the guys running Kayak4Fish.com know that their frequent and long down time is the main reason why guys like us are jumping onto other forums or creating new ones like this.

Jim isn't associated with plastic navy, PN is run by a guy named Drew.  Jim posts other places though, besides his own site, including PN.  He is also on TKF a lot.  His lack of site reliability is a huge bummer though.

Jim is on most of the boards.  I was surprised when he had such a negative reaction to this site as he was a big advocate of sharing info between boards (kayaksportfishing, PN, yakfishing, ect).  I remember he was a bit put off when Spike's site refused to let him post.

In any case, I hope he gets his site back up soon.  I still find myself checking in on what's going on down South...   When I can't fish, I live vicariously thru the reports...

I think maybe he thought we were selling products as well (that would take his customers away) But the reality is obvious: we don't sell anything -  we just share what we know about Bay Area fishing.

Maybe we should throw Jim a bone and link to his site?  Should also link to elrics yahoo group too.  We owe both people/places for giving us a home for a while, and they still hold old reports - it's nice to see where the action was a year back and try again.

I should really put all my reports in one file on my computer for my own records...

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/norcalyakfishers/

Pretty slow now, but there are some photos, and if you go back you'll see it was the old skool norcal kayak fishing hangout.  Elric still maintains it, and I peek in about once a week to see what's up.

I just traded emails with Jim. He hopes to be back up in a few days. They are moving there forums to a seperate server.

I have added a link to his site on the "Other Kayak Sites" area. I will add Elric's now.

Thanks for the interest, our forums got hacked and brought down or server again. We are in the process of moving the forums to a new host that works mainly with these forums. Hopfully they will be more on top of the security issues. I hope to have the forums back up later today, but it may be a couple of days more.
Thanks for the patience and support.

Sure I know it, that is why my blood pressure is so high right now. This is very stressful, when it is my only sourse of income. The forums are my best avenue of promotion.

I'm glad you guys ironed everything out! :smt021

I for one am stoked to finally have a area specific forum.  I still try and view Kayak4fish periodically.  I think some of the regulars that post there have a lot of great ideas/comments with regard to kayak fishing in general, as well as some great "Diaries" of epic fishing outings and fish specific hunting techniques.

Having a "hookups" thread in LA does me no good at all!  Having the same thing here is like pulling into the commuter parking lot and yelling "Who's going to Bucks?"  :groupwave
