I've recently upgraded to the turbo fins, and must say WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG!!!  Its a BIG difference to me on my OB.  Now my average cruzing speed doing minimal peddling is around 3.5mph with minimal effort.  And boy, can I make waves when I step up on it!  Now i'm reaching the 5mph mark I could barely do before with the old fins!

I have read that turbo fins on the OB have a tendency to put too much stress on the fin masts causing them to break because of the pressure needed to get it going as it is not as sleek as the Revo.
I have the Revo w/turbo fins and have had no problems.
I also went with the sail rudder..HUGE difference.

When I looked up on the internet how to upgrade the fins, I found different sets of directions.  I think one was older, cause it basically said just remove the old fins and slip the new ones on the old masts.  But mine came with new masts, and found the directions for removing and replacing them  They are a little longer and I think a little stronger.

Either way, I learned to start out a little slowly and build up the pressure, not just step on the gas so to speak  :smt004

I also got the sailing rudder, since there was so much talk about it being an improvement.  But I haven't installed it yet, wondering if anyone has any downsides to using it?

Al for the sailing rudder i'd say the only downside is its a bit more effort to haul it up (due to surface area) otherwise I love it. I can do a complete 360 in less then two boat lengths.

Sorry for the late respond. I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time on my Revo
to make a comment between the Revo and the OB. I love them both the same. What I missed about the OB is the stability and the deck space. This one is really
a fishing machine. You can move around in any position and you don't feel as
though you will flip over. Now about the Revolution, I had to fish numerous times
just so I can decide where to mount rod holders and such. It's obvious it does not
have the same deck space as the OB but once you have everything figured out,
you can fish longer distance with this kayak. It doesn't take much to move it forward and it is easier to turn than the OB. I guess what I traded for bottom line
was the speed and that's all.

the only down fall to the revo is the lack of flat space in front of you  :smt003
