I have a Malibu 2 rigged with flushmount rod holders, an internal bladder bait tank with pump inflow and outflow, multiple Scotty rodholders. I've been having a LOT of leakage on recent trips when two adults are on the yak and it sits kinda low because of the weight. I've gone back and sealed over EVERYTHING that can possibly be a trickle leak. Question: how watertight are Gaspachi hatches? Has anyone else ever noticed non-trivial leaking from these, even with tightly sealed? Thanks.

I had them on my scrambler. They are a bitch to seal especially OTW. Its hard to push them down with such little resistance from the water. I got to the point that I would only open the center hatch 'cuz I could seal it by sitting on it.

I about sank the kayak (frying my depthfinder in the process) once when a Gaspachi didn't seat right. My own fault. But it seems even when they seat there is non-trivial leakage. Maybe I'll run some closed cell adhesive tape around the deck by the plastic lip that the Gaspachi sits down on, just so there is something for the black rubber hatch to snug down against. When there are two full sized guys on the yak, the water is about up to hatch level, so I guess it makes sense.
