So I just purchased a used Hobie Outback and ready to get some fish but have yet to bag any with it.

I am also new the kayaking thing, was into open water rowing and float tubing but have caught the KF bug.

I have been on Del Valle, Lake Natoma and mostly into the fresh water and mellow rivers.

I am in the Redwood City area during the week and in Berkeley on the weekends but willing to go to most any really good spot to fish.

Any suggestions on gear and how to get up to speed in this sport would help. I will read the other forums also.

So shoot me a message about good trips or let me know if anyone wants to go out to the local lakes for some trout.

Has anyone had luck in Santa Cruz by the pier or in Moss beach?

I also hear the great whites like the hobie mirage drives......... but it also seems most of the top AOTY's have them........ comments?
