Shorefishing Mendo coast

I'm going up to the coast later in Aug to dive. Where is a good place around Van Damme to shore fish?

Up the road a bit in Ft Bragg. Turn West at the stoplight immediately South of the Noyo bridge. Follow the road around past the school to the dirt pullout. Another spot that looks good, but never have fished is at the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse near Caspar. I know that to the South is protected, but looks like plenty of access to the north. I would check with the park ranger there to see exactly where that line is though first.
