Hey folks,

Just got back from my biennial trip to Alaska a few days ago. I fished for six days and slept a total of 15 hours for six days. Feels like going through combat training-sleep deprevation big time. Hd a great time with my friends and we got lots of fish.

I was able to get this one on my last day when my wrists were "officially exhausted."

Hopefully the picture worked. I have a bunch more to post but my video camera caught a wave and died. I'm geting it repaired so I'll have more fish porn to post later.

I was on the Kenai Peninsula. Homer, Seward, Upper Kenai, and the Kasilof River. This salmon went 44 inches and was real fresh. My other one, also caught on the Kasilof was 48" but thin. I also got 4 lingcod almost 50 pounds a piece as well as 4 decent sized halibut 35-60 pounds. Tons of Black rockfish to 10 pounds and goldeneye.

The best part of the trip was to watch my compadres catch huge sockeye salmon off the back dock of the lodge we stayed at. All together for three days they got about 80 of them. I did get one, but was relagated to fillet duty and net boy since I am the only one who could do these tasks. Had more fun hearing them whooping it up as well as the drags getting pulled when the salmon went for their first run.

Mmmm!! Fresh salmon. Just a reminder that the Queen of Hearts 5-day trip out of San Diego next year may become a 7-day venture.

Dan,

No it is one I got last week. Once I get more photos, I'll post more. She was the smaller of the two I got on the Kasilof River.

My party also hit the Sockeye run on the Kenai and the fish we got were the biggest sockeyes I've ever seen. Our lodge proprieter got one about 15 pounds. All of the fish were caught off the back dock of Tim Bergs Trophy Lodge in Soldotna. Most of the fish were from 8-12 pounds and real thick. One night three guys got their limits of six a piece and just the fillets weighed almost 50 pounds. Now I have a bunch of salmon in my freezer :smt003

Send me a PM and let me know how you're doing. Still at our old company? I'm right down the street now in Redwood City.

Have fun in Alaska.
