I was up there yesterday (3/25/2017) and the lake was completely full.  The water was a bit murky but fishing was not bad.  Beautiful lake though!

Yes, kayaks are allowed. The rule was changed a few years ago (may even fI've by now) allowing kayaks again.

As others have said, it's still very high and pretty muddy. Had started to clear some during that stretch of nice weather but the feeder creeks are looking like coffee again. It's going to be a good year up there though once the water clears and warms some.
Do you know what the gate hours are? Is it possible to launch on the bank to get an early start?
The hours are posted somewhere at the launch so I'll check next time I'm there. In my experience, the gate is usually open by 7:30 mid spring through early fall. The caretaker is a NCKA member - maybe he'll chime in on this. Shore launches are not permitted. That being said, you see people doing it regularly - especially at  the north end where Conn Creek enters the lake.

I just wish they would allow float tubes on the lake.
