I'm up for Sunday. Anyone else?

BTW, we used to TANK dive (on yaks) out of Reef campground - 2 tanks, ab gear, and of course the thermos of soup. I won't mind something easier.
IMO, the only problem with Stillwater is that there is only temporary parking for a few cars at the launch, then you have to move. I'm open to it, though.

Hey guys,

I think this thread is getting a little long, with people launching at different spots. :smt101   How about someones who are familiar with each launch site start new threads - one for stillwater, one for ocean cove, and one for Fort Ross.  Travis already started one for salt point.  Just an idea. :light

So I never heard from anyone that was in need of a place to stay.  I'm tentatively planning on heading up Friday night after traffic (so leave the south bay around 6:30-7:00PM).  That will put me in Cazadero around 9:30-ish.  I'm going to stay through Sunday morning and perhaps fish the Bay on the way home.  PM me if you want to crash at the Cabin and I'll fill you in on the where/when/how.

Also, I will be bringing the Triple, so if anyone wants to leave their yak at home and paddle front on the Triple, that's an option too.  I'm pretty sure I want to target Fort Ross, so my alterior motives is to get help on the beach haul.

I haven't done the ocean cove launch, but I'm not against it.  I'd be nice if we could pick one spot, maybe we should do a poll and see what wins and everyone goes there?  What's the breakdown on parking/use/launching costs?

Fort ross is     $6
Stillwater was $3 a couple years ago
Ocean cove?   ?
Salt point        ?

Any of these spots will produce fish and abalone.  My only requirement is I have to have a dive buddy, prefereably several.  I'll lend out my spearguns to anyone that wants to give them a try.

Well I am definitely going to dive for abs. It doesn't matter to me if I dive alone or not. I might try a new spot near Ocean Cove I have seen on my fish finder. A nice pinnacle surrounded by deep water.
Doesn't matter too much where I dive. Hopefully my VHF will show up b4 the trip. Channel 69 and we could hook up for a dive.
That is the main reason I like Ocean Cove. 30 lb weight belt, anchor, 15+ lbs of abalone, hopefully 30+ pounds of fish, added weight of wet gear...I wanna paddle into the back my truck straight from the water. OC is the closest I can come to doing that.
