Well might as well enjoy it for its not to stay this way, this is only due to the El Nino, the warming surface of the pacific ocean causes the fish to move and active constantly, I know you guys knows this too, but what I am trying to say is lets enjoy and fish every chance we can get.. :smt003 :smt003 :smt003 Are you reading this KEO? where are you JAI BOI?

Wasn't there also a lot of upwelling off the California coast this last year?

  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upwelling

I think that explained much of that nasty north wind early this spring.

steelhead so true! The numbers this year have been awsome. I have finally started seeing bait in the bellys of the fish I catch.

I think that explained much of that nasty north wind early this spring.

There was really strong upwelling early in the season but it was followed by much less than average upwelling in late May and June. That type of pattern sometimes causes harmful algal blooms that kill off a lot of marine life. There has actually been a recent big die off of seals and sea lion pups off our coast that may or may not be related to starvation. Nobody knows the cause yet but it could be a sign of a lack of food.
Be the guide.
