Just heard from the vet about Steve

... and it's good news. 

The mass he had removed was definitely cancer, but it was a kind that is unlikely to have spread to other parts of his body. They also believe that they got the whole thing out of him during the surgery earlier this week.

So it looks like we get to keep Steve around for a few more years.
Thank you everyone for the support. I was really worried about him for a while. 

That's some good news! Pets are like family, very sad when one goes. I lost my 9 month old Boston Terrier to a blood clot in the brain. I cried when the vet called me when she was crying when she passed away. But hope Steve stays healthy and continues to be a part of the family for a long time!

  I read your post about steve and am truly happy that the news is good! I wish you and Steve a long happy life! Being a dog lover and wanting to be a dog trainer on top of just getting a german shepherd (which is where i got my screen name because my dogs name is Scout), i cant imagine the stress that it put you through. Like i said, all the best brother!

Thanks everyone. I've been giving him some extra love and attention (like letting him sleep on the bed), and giving him a little extra food in his dish. It's such a relief that I'll have to be careful not to make him fat! 

We'll be sure to bring Steve and Bessie with us to the next NCKA event that allows dogs. 

Sounds great Jay, i look forward to seeing him soon.  if you ever need someone to watch that pair while you're fishing my wife will be happy to help =)
