Fishing rockies and sand dabs before Aaron's safety and surf class. Launching at 6AM. Company welcome. BTW, the class is highly recommended for anyone new to saltwater fishing or just want to get better in the surf. See thread under NCKA events for more info.

Hi Scott. I would love to join you, as I am also taking Aaron's class, but I'm an ocean beginner. Is this something I should try BEFORE taking the class? Also, since I don't have any rockfish tackle, a few pointers on what to buy would be appreciated. Thanks.
Maybe I should skip the fishing and just paddle around and watch you catch fish, like I did back at Quarry Lakes last winter!

The surf has been small in front of the shop this week and lots of rockies being caught. For beginners shrimp flies tipped with squid strips and 4oz sinkers will work. I won't be able to do the prefish as I'll be setting up the class, but that sure sounds fun.Look forward to seeing you all there!  :smt006

Andy, David and Lawrence look forward to fishing with you.

Eugene - have Nathan bring the sail. He can do some kite surfing like PJ at Jalama. :-) BTW will be trolling the CD14 just in case Mr Thresher is around.

I've got a couple of questions about this trip!  :smt006

1. are there still spots available in the class?
2. is anyone going down from SF that morning (with extra space on the yak rack)?
3. if #2 is possible, any idea what time you'd be returning?

I've got to fly to Tokyo on Sunday, but it sure would be a nice day before sitting on a plane for 12 hours...

Peter

Ben - see you out there. Only fishing from 6-9.

Alex - we should get Marmite and we can re-live my first trip on big blue. I used to fish bass all summer and since that day, May to October  is all saltwater. Thanks for taking me on my first trip. I take a newbie out every year to "pay it forward".
