Ocean Kayak closing their Washington plant

Really bummed about this up coming closure and them moving production to Maine. Wtf? Maine? I gotta believe our West/N. West has a lot more customers/kayakers then that place. Love the company support and their kayaks.

That's interesting it'd seem like the west coast would have more sales but who knows

they were one of the companies I had emailed about MLPA/2XA support

Probably cheaper to set up shop back there, even in the snow.

I'm sure it was just more cost effective to consolidate it's paddle sport operations around another existing well established production operation and it looks like the "Old Town" canoe and kayak plant won out.
