Looks like some albacore reports are coming in so we are gonna put off surf fish'n. If anyone wants to use the nets just pm me.  If the tuna reports/weather don't pan out we will re-post hookup for Goat Rock. Apologies, Allen

I haven't "night surf" fished in years and am looking to try it Friday night July 3rd. The extended weather forecast and tides look favorable. I have been looking for intel to see if the commercial guys have been getting them? Has anyone seen them in the fish markets? I have two "A" frame nets we can share and can probably come up with a couple more. This is usually a great family outing...catch a sunset and a fire on the beach (gotta check on the legality on that these days). Any intel or interest?

Ooops. forgot to mention. This would be at Goat Rock Beach at the mouth of the Russian River.

Where are you planning to do this? I know for a fact that HMB to OCEAN BEACH are good areas but its more of a Hit and Missed, make sure bring some bomber stick lure in white or ghost color, good luck..

Cool, I've seen guys throwing castnets for 'em at Duncan's Cove. This was way back in '04, though.

I'd like to get in on this, Remember that Bodega Bay is doing the firework display that evening instead of the actual 4th to save the city money. I have a campsite at westside for the weekend that due to family issues I'll be the only one there, so if anyone wants to crash there and pitch a tent feel welcome, I"m going for fish during the day, halibut one day and rock fish on another day. Anyone know where to get another dip net

I remember catching them two to three per hand as a kid on really heavy runs down around Martin's Beach.  Later on in college I had some success along Humboldt's beaches later in the summertime.  I haven't had the ol' A-Frame out in years...

Thanks for the reminder of the Good Times, and yeah that was a good link about the fried tasties.   :smt001

Good luck on the albies, Dude.   :smt008

Yea, some really positive reports are coming in on Albacore at the guide. One boat has 14 already. Good luck out there, the weather looks great. I'm trying to hitch a ride myself.
