The radio I "bought" fell through, and now I'm looking again.   :smt013

Sadly the Boaters World HX600 special is out of stock - has anyone seen any good deals out there recently?

If anyone has a "spare" they are looking to get rid of, please PM me.

Thanks!

Peter

Tom, I finally got around to checking out the strobe feature. Very nice. Have you tried the temperature measuring function?

I see West Marine carries the HX280 which is on sale for $89. Anyone know the difference between that and the 270?

Messed with the strobe and like it but not the temp feature yet, I usually drift with my legs dangling int he water anyway so am pretty sure if it is cold or not.  :smt003

Or strap it to your PFD, where, IMHO, it belongs.  If somebody is separated from their yak, their VHF does them absolutely NO good if it isn't with them.

BTW, I own the Icom M88 with a mic and love it.  A bit pricey, but love it.

Forgot to mention, the beauty of the mic is that it allows me to put my VHF in a pocket of my PFD and forget about it.  Out of the way, yet can hear and talk with ease as the mic is pinned to a strap by my ear.

I really need to get a mic for my standard horizon.  Got em for all my HAM radio H/T's and really like using them over the stock stuff.
