Not sure if I can make it that early but will try!  When I put in yesterday, I spoke to a one legged guy who was about to pull his pb out at the ramp.  He said he hooked big time near Channel Marker 7 (I am assuming that is half way to Napa but haven't checked yet) and did well anchored in 5 feet of water.  It seems as if some fish are making the rounds!

Tides for Vallejo, Mare Island Strait starting with August 30, 2009.

I suggest we meet at the parking lot behind the coffee house around 6:30am.  I'll get the key to open the gate before that time.  The path to the water is flat so any kind of kayak wheels are fine (see page 1 for pictures).  If you target Sturgeon, the area between the 2 bridges (very close to the launch spot) is very productive in the pass.  For Stripers, go to the right (passed the tall bridge) you can ride the incoming tide toward Napa river, trolling the slough to the west of the bridge, or fishing the marsh area to the right.  See ya tomorrow  :smt006

If you target Sturgeon, a quick release anchor system is highly recommended.  For Stripers, you can troll or anchor.  As far as food, bring anything that you would like to share.
