Thats cool! I am glad the new net worked for ya' :smt002

Thanks. I slipped a chunk of pool noodle over the handle so it floats like a cork!

The pool noodle I slipped on my net saved it yesterday. After my excitement landing the ling, I temporarily lost track of the net only to look to my left to see it bobbing in the water.

That's exactly how I lost my first one. And when I noticed it was to late to try and jig for it on the bottom

Funny, I actually went to high school with a set of twins that were in a TV commercial for the gum! Strange but true.

no shit...before my last few drifts I was in a boil of bait and I couldn't get one to hit my sabiki. I guess dead bait worked OK for me.

Hi Eric:

I was a little Leary about the Weather Report. The Drizzle and Fog in the Am. turned one some red flags so, I went SW and rode the Wind back to the West Harbor. My only bits were C&R, one 15" Ling and a Jr. Black. in front of
the Light House in the Kelp Beds.
I use Ranch 99 Mkt. Whole Squid on a Three-way and Driftedbetween
the Kelp Fingers. I think I might go back to 25Lbs. to keep the line cuts down while, pulling free Snags. :smt044
Fish and Game did do a quick Eye Ball of my Rig at the S. end of Natural
Bridges which wasted a little fishing time.
Nice Catch and I hope to do as well next weekend!

I have just become a believer in the stinger hook (worth the effort tying them) and when using dead bait I am gonna use the hootchie skirt.

Yeah man, it was weird, where ever I paddled in my yak on saturday the bait was with me, it was like my own giant personal live well, they were everywhere, in the water, in my yak at my feet, jigging them up, some even jumped in.... I think i limited out on bait fish, id rig em up, drop em down for the drift, and Nothing....

Damn. I was in the bait ball as well. But was unable to get a single one to bite. I think my sabiki was a bit on the large side. I'll need to down size a bit. I drifted with the bait and figured my frozen 'chovie may look like a wounded fish and motivate a strike. Guess it worked
