Hit the water about 11ish. Kind of a later start than usual. Turned out to be a solo trip today since the usual suspects couldn't make it out. That's alright though, less jaw jackin and more focus on the fishing. Made my way to the outer edge of the kelp beds and started drifting a swimbait. Couldn't even paddle 30-40 yards without hooking up. Olives, yellowtails, kelpies, gophers, and blues were hungry today. Decided to paddle out to a reef I know of for a ling. No ling but pulled up a nice 4 1/2 lb verm instead. That'll work! Wind picked up and it started to get nasty, so I decided to make my way back towards the kelp beds. It was hard to pull away though, having just caught the red I wanted another one. There will always be more out there for next time though.Plenty of fish in the sea :smt003. Came back to the kelp beds and met Joey who works at MBK. Talked with him for a while then headed in. All in all another killer day OTW
