still unsure of how to do things inside the yak, or how to seal the hole i have to drill for the wires?

Get your stuff together and lay it out on your yak and you'll figure it out.

The hole to run the wire can go under the base mount, and you can seal it with silicone.  OR you might be able to run the wire under a hatch temporarily until you decide.

There's a bunch of pics of rigged fishfinders here and elsewhere...  Everyone does it a little differently.

Just an FYI for anyone else who might read this.

If you buy a Humminbird FF you can send the transducer to them and they will replace it with the thru-hull transducer for free.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Yeah, if I had a T13, I'd definitely do the scupper transducer.  There aren't many things I'm jealous of OK about, but the scupper transducer and rod pod are 2 things I admire.

I got a charger from a friend and made my own packs from 10 AA's and heat shrink tubing... and then did the Loc N Loc container thing per SBD's "New School power Supply" artcle.

Makes charging and swapping batteries a snap...  and it's so lightweight as to be unnoticeable.

As for being a pro at "pimping my kayak" oh man, not sure about that, so far my rigging all works just fine, but I sped threw it all, has a ghetto homemade flavor to it.... ill get the finder installed, but it surely wont be like the pro's yaks on here.... BUT, if it works, im happy!

It never ends. With each hook up you see what others have done and it gets the wheels a turnin'

I had bad luck with the goop and ended up doing the noodle/water thing, works perfect for me.
