The Werner website has a neat question and answer section for suggesting paddle type and size, Yes they are expensive but you still can get some good info from their site then shop elswhere for a paddle.

I don't think you will find a good lightweight paddle under 100 dollars. If you don't mind a heavier paddle, you can find some for 100 bucks.

Hey Brenden,

I replaced my paddle recently, but the original is pretty good, and I'd sell it for $100 -- but I wonder if it would be too short for you (230cm /24(???) oz)? You're a big guy  :smt003

If you (and your family) would like to take a drive to the valley (2 1/2 hours) you're welcome to come and try the paddle (and for that matter the Tarpon you saw me paddling Saturday if you haven't chosen a yak yet) in one of our ponds.

Another idea is here:

You can order the length you need, and they appear to be pretty good. I think it's a touch heavier than my paddle, but I suspect that the blades would weigh less than mine === less work. They're a touch more than $100.
