some ppl attach a deck loop on the underside. I used these (see link). With a single standard rivet in the center. I got them at home depot (or OSH) for a few bucks. I also ran some down the center line to secure the transducer cable from the head unit to the 'ducer. They are sticky backed and seem to hold fine. But I added a rivet to the inverted ones b/c the angle and weight pulling down. If it doesn't make sense let me know and I can post some pics.

I just used the 1/4" white plastic cable cleats from Ace, gooped one side (facing up) to hig up the sides of the hull. They work great...

so after i placed the transducer into the noodle, i ran some black duct tape on the out side of the noodle to make it strownger and prevent it from ripping, PERFECT!

Porky I'm humbled by your most excellent install...mines more ghetto than yours...and I didn't wait...used gorilla glue...yeah baby...3-4 hrs cure time... :smt003 but back to the "noodle install" with a 24 hr wait...My whole prob is I didn't secure my 12v brick...just let it flop around unsecured and popped my noodle...sounds like a line in a bar...but I'm for real...

Great install...and the input from everybody is extremely helpful....WTG Porky!!!
It's all about Today!!! Because who knows what tomorrow will bring... so Better get OTW n GetSome

Thanks sledge... but...... theres still the battery install to come!!! All i have is a 60 pound trolling battery, i rigged it in the tank well... its a little heavy but works for weeks on end with out a recharge.

NO KIDDING, but i do have a concern... I have a tiny little lipo battery from a RC reciever, they have great power and last forever..

but my concern is this...

my FF power supply reads like this (Power Supply 10 - 17 vDC )

Does that mean i can run anywhere between 10-17 volts to power my supply? My little lipo battery is 11.1 volts....

you should be fine. I have the 242 and I've run it on 8 AA's. It seems to perform fine when the level get to 10 (even 9+ volts). The 242 shows the power level on the screen. I am sure yours will as well. just make sure the backlight is off. Not sure if things like sensitivity, etc alter the power draw. You'll know right away if the battery isn't strong enough. But I get you'll be ok. (and yes. I am going to the event). As sledge noted...make sure its secure to the yak in a waterproof bag or a tupperware (your wife will never miss it)

Well I went with the transducer mount that can be hooked up to the new tarpon series track system. i used a small cutting board to mount to the track system and hang the transducer off the side. Seem to be the best bet from what i was trying to accomplish.

The work great. I use them in a few diff places at tie down points for dry bags etc. The adhesive is really strong.
