Arrived at Leffingwell about 7:00 with my pal Jeff, started paddling out and found ourselves in the middle of a pod of dolphins just under 200 yards off the shore.  We had to stop and just enjoy watching them for a while.  I have heard dolphins are a good omen, and now I'm a believer.  The fishing was a little slow with a few decent blues, some mini-gophers (about 3" long, and almost a s big as the jig I was using), and one nice ling.  When the ling hit it just inhaled the jig and laid there.  I thought I was hung up on kelp or rocks and gave the line couple of sharp tugs to try and break loose, and this "rock" started stripping line off my reel.  The ling was 33" long and weighed 14.5 pounds.

It was really flat out there today, with only a 2' swell and pretty light wind.  We never saw the sun shine through, so it was a little chilly.  It was busy here today.  There were a couple of inflatable boats, an small aluminum boat, a canoe and about 10 kayakers out this morning.
