Think we'd have a better shot at halis off davenport or would it be better to stay in town around the usual haunts (capitola/mile buoy to blacks)? I might be fishing that way on Sunday and would be down for Davenport, but haven't heard any favorable reports out of there recently.

Yeah, but that was just Mooch :smt044 :smt044
My test-fish last week indicated that there are fish out there, as long as the wind stays down & keeps the drift to a fishable speed.
my 3oz leadheads weren't quite up to the task by 10:30 am.
I could see launching from the harbor, I just prefer the more "wild" coastline.

Piscean are you going for halibut? I was down looking at natural bridges this morning, wind didn't show till noon. I would like to stay away from the pbs' in santa cruz and am looking for alternatives.

Davenport is an alternative, certainly.

Yep, Halibut or Lingcod, any of the usual suspects.

Well Gents,
Where is it going to be for Sunday. I'll join you, the conditions look very good for Hali's in the SC area and reports say a good bite at the yellow can out of the harbor on Blues and Browns. I think I will either launch out of the harbor or capitola, let me know what your plans are and I will more than likely join up with you.  Mike

Coolio Aaron. I'm planning on Davenport, 6am. Figure I'll use the harbor launch as a backup. I got my FF working this morning, so I'm taking that as a good sign!

I'm going to launch out of the SC harbor around 7:00. Plan is to go to the yellow can first. I'll be monitoring Ch. 69 if anyone decides to come out.
