Teaser

Alan and I attended the 2nd annual Catapalooza yakfishing get together put on by Andy Allen of OEX at Catalina Island last weekend. We got on the ferry at Marina Del Ray with 29 other yakfishers from Southern California on friday morning. At Two Harbors we walked across the isthmus and paddled 4 miles to Little Harbor where we camped on the beach and fished for 4 days. Most excellent people, food, fishing and location. Day one jackpot went to Les with an 11 pound class halibut.

Les

Day 2 jackpot went to Andy (Not Allen) with a 15 pound class white seabass.

Andy's Ghost

Day 3 jackpot went to NCKA's own Big Al with a 35 inch halibut.

Big Al Represents

Day 4 jackpot went to yours truly with the twin to Alan's halibut. They were less than an ounce apart. Life is good.

Good Time

There was a huge number of halibut, calico bass, sand bass, sheep head and assorted rockfish caught.

Mixed Bag

A good time was had by all. Here are some assorted shots.

Where did I put that hot dog?

See you all at Albion.................
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

Are there particular ferries that allow kayaks? How much is the round trip?
