Awww Campbell Cove aka Contaminated Cove. One of my favorite places to hunt sharays.

It's dropped a bit. It's usually in the top three just about every year due to high e coli counts from the enormous amount of seal, sealion, seagull, and pelican s**t that washes through the channel and up onto the beach there.

Popular windsurfer launch spot...lol.

good link Mike, yeah, i try to stay on top of this beach list since we do a lot of running and dog walking on the beach.  Speaking of dogs...

Last Sunday at ARW, I saw these two dogs retrieving balls thrown into the water by their owner and his daughter.  Owner was using one of those ball-throwing levers with the cup disposed on one end, you know the kind.  One of the dogs went potty right at the waters edge of the concrete launch.  He used the lever to toss the potty into the water, with his daughter right there asking what he was doing.

I thought DAYUM!  That's kinda gross.

Think they should take a closer look at Carmel lagoon and Capitola (near the creek mouth) after the first rain of the year...the fecal and ecoli bacteria throw parties there every year. :smt012
