I printed this, when I go to shop I know what to get, I am a very good swimmer I was a varsity swimmer back then but age years goes got out of shape, I am going to look for a few seminar, theres one on Del Valle I think its demo day, but I'll try to ask and absorb as much as I could, I will definitely be there Thanks for the extremely important piece of the puzzle,

P.S. NewChickKayaker Thanks I would love to be at silver lake, but, its just way out of the way, I'll will see you in the water, Thanks

Be careful - because no matter how great of a swimmer you are, if the water is cold and you are tired and/or a current, all of those can make a good swimmer go bad!  :smt006

Completely agree! I've had some close calls on swimming rivers before with no floating device, That's when I learned to respect the water, I am very thankful to people who keep reminding me not to take poseidon for granted. As soon as I get my yak, I will be posting my pics and my fish hopefully sooner than saturday, Thanks much fellas.

WTThisMadness and you seem to be well prepard for adventure and fun. If you plan to ocean fish, like all said, get some time in on the lakes or calm waters. Remember safety first, kayaker second and an angler third.
See you soon on the waters!! :smt002

Darius,

You will become addicted like most of us. Look at Fishunter, he's posted more than 4000 messages about his adventures, experiences, successes, failures, etc...   Gearing up is a blast as well. Take a look at the rigged kayak section..
Lot's of great ideas..

Add to the list I posted earleir:

First Aid Kit
Food
Water
Fish Finder
And that list will grow and grow.

See ya on the water.

I see if I can contact SCallen I don't mind if he charge me for his time ...

If you need a second let me know. No promises, but if I can work it out I'd love to meet Allen and yourself and put a dent in my knowledge & skill deficits.

Yah I primarily fish saltwater - the bay when the stripers and halibut are around, and often go out on the coast for rockies/halibut when weather/season permits.  You should come out to event at alameda rock wall on Sunday.

Darius,

If you are serious about ocean fishing, the T140 is better equipped (IMHO). It has the design and storage areas needed for gear.

The Malibu loses it deck space to accomodate the second yakker.

They are both good rides, but if it were me, no question...
