4th Annual NCKA Half Moon Bay Kayak Co. Fishing Derby -- Sept. 19, 2009

i should be in too.  i will have to have my people get in touch with your polepole.

I am in. Is anyone camping down there?

You can:

-camp at the Princeton Harbor Parking lot BUT NO TENTS ALLOWED - meaning you can park and sleep on / inside your vehicle. (I'll find out what cost is for per night)

or - reserve a camp site at the Half Moon Bay State Beach on Kelly Ave. (less than a 5 mile drive South of Princeton Harbor. (reserve soon or better yet, get some of the NCKA gang together and reserve the group campsite. The group campsite rarely gets used and you'll have a better chance getting the group site over an individual site.

I'll camp on the Princeton Parking lot but I'd rather go with the group campsite at HMB State Beach!

You can also try to reserve a place at the point montara light house hostel, I think it's $25 a night an has an epic view of the current ocean conditions and a popular PB fishing site. I grew up in Half Moon Bay and have done tons of surf fishing there, but I didn't start kayak fishing until I moved to Santa Cruz, so I'm pumped for this derby. Can't wait, count me in!

Count me in for this event. I will be there for the parking lot camping as well.

  Are you guys talking about camping friday and saturday, or just friday? Last time the derby was on a sunday, so some of us stayed overnite sat. night, and most people showed up that morning and went home that night. Sept 19 is a saturday, so i'll probably show up early saturday and fish and party and crash. Then get up sunday, go for a paddle, and go home.

I should have a vehicle that I can sleep in by this event, so probably be in the parking lot partying with you guys then too!     Last time I stayed in a crappy hotel by myself, not so fun

I should have enough WAF points saved by then, it will be good to see the crew I met at GS III again, and meet some new ones. I'm down with sleeping in the truck or getting a group site.
