Shicken,

" I live on a hill"  :smt044

Boy thats an understatement....

My older daughter lives in the city. She lives on a hill. She drives a VW bug with a a stick that her dumb Dad (me) bought her. She taught herself how to drive a stick. She loves driving her bug in the city... She is a strange child...

NCK.....

Please do put this experience with your dealer's repair dept in your hip pocket.
They are neither ethical, or nice.

Post Warranty...you've got to find another place to have your car work done.

Your dealership denied responsibility on the ground that "brakes are not part of the warranty."     Given that the E-brake cables were adjusted too tightly at the factory the issue never was "brakes."

Their second-level strategy:   to CHARGE you for replacement pads....and NOT at the "parts price" but, at their full-blown pad-replacement price...!!!....is another statement of fundamental intent-to-be-dishonest.

The place is crooked.
It is staffed by crooked people.
It is just immensely valuable to know that upfront.
Because THEY ain't gunna change.

Just goes to show how knowledge will prevail over those who try to take advantage of others.

Some trouble but good outcome.

Out of 8 advisers at my old dealership I only consider 1 or 2 to be 100% honest.  Like I said you should contact Honda and let them know what's going on.  Toyota was real good about straightening out our dealership when we did this stuff.  Also the upper management doesn't usually find out about this stuff when people don't make a stink.  You need your dealership for future warranty concerns so I would try and find an honest adviser. Good luck

Great thread! Too bad you didnt get a video also like the one on utube= Jiffy lube busted!, what an eye opener that is, I never go to them anymore, do it all myself now.
NKC it sounds like you would get some great knowledge out of a basic automotive class, Hondas are easy to work on, and you will save $100 an hour as well at least, brakes are simple, tune ups and basic maintenance also, after the warranty expires  that is..
I take it you dont mind getting a little bit dirty? THATS the big ?
I had my dashboard in pieces all over my driveway yesterday to replace a headlight switch, and troubleshoot a dash light problem, probably saved a few hundred dollars.
My mechanic is Steve @ Marinwood Automotive Service, top-notch, spotless shop, does not overcharge, and he lets me know what I can do myself, AND he's at Smith Ranch Road, so while Im waiting, I cast for stripers on the canal. Its MADNESS
